In 1905 Matisse and Derain spent several weeks in Collioure, painting the local scenes. The vibrant colour and special light of this place inspired a new movement in art, called Fauvism. I set to explore Collioure in the Summer to try to understand what attracted the two painters to this magical place and what they experienced.
